We have one part-time role funded to provide welfare benefits advice for disabled people of any age living in Manchester.
Contact Maureen on 07782 556033 (voice, text, WhatsApp) or email maureen@gmcdp.com
Maureen works part time, Monday – Wednesday, but you can leave a message any time.
If you live in one of the other boroughs of Greater Manchester and need advice about benefits please contact Greater Manchester Law Centre. They can also support with housing, employment and other issues.
We also run monthly 'Benefits Tips Socials' events. These are currently run on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, 6-9pm as hybrid events - online and in person at The Proud Place. If you attend in person, we provide free food (often pizza) and drink. These events are open to people in Manchester and beyond, and offer group-based tailored support to help you navigate applying, reconsidering and appealing: Personal Independence Payments (PIP), migrating to Universal Credit (UC) and other disability-related welfare benefits. We finish with a creative activity to de-stress before the end of the event. See our Events webpage for more information and to book your free place.
You are also welcome to come along to the online and in person events that we run as part of the Manchester Disabled People's Project before, during and/or after you have welfare benefits advice. These events are free and come with support for your access needs. Many people like to start with our online coffee meetings.
We are not able to offer advocacy at the moment. Other organisations that may be able to help include:
Gaddum (Manchester)
Irish Community Care (Manchester)
Motiv8 Greater Manchester
