Part of The Lowry’s Week 53 Festival, MADHOUSE re:exit will be staged throughout the hidden passages beneath Barton Arcade, 17-26th May 2018.
They will take audience members on a wondrous adventure underground, creating an immersive theatrical experience in a powerful expression of what it is like to live with a learning disability today.
After a sell-out run at Shoreditch Town Hall, award winning theatre company Access All Areas return with a fantastical, disruptive, immersive experience. Inspired by a refusal to be silent, and a history of being ignored, 5 learning disabled artists take us on a wondrous adventure underground Barton Arcade, in Manchester’s city centre. Within a maze-like institution, they growl to be heard, waiting for the revolution that is forever promised. Past and present spin together in a powerful expression of what it feels like to be learning disabled today.'
