Kintsugi Clothing seeks volunteers for survey and feedback

From Kintsugi Clothing:

Hello,

I'm writing on behalf of Kintsugi Clothing, a pre-launch fashion brand working to create accessible clothing that is both fashionable and inclusive.

We asked the disabled community what kinds of things they wish designers would think about when designing clothes and were overwhelmed with the response. Obviously, there are so many different types of impairments but some share the same requirements when it comes to clothes - particularly when it comes to ease of dressing.

In response to this feedback, we created a first collection. As a cash-strapped startup, we can only focus on womenswear for now but we have big plans for the future and are keen to expand and really shake up the fashion industry and its under-representation of disabled people. For now, we have a collection of ten pieces and we cannot wait to share them with you and, if necessary, make some adjustments before we create the first samples.

Our purpose is to make fashionable clothing that every body type can wear. Yes, this is a huge challenge but with your help, we really think we can shake up the industry and give disabled people people the same range and choice as everyone else.

We would really appreciate some volunteers to do two things for us:

  1. take a short survey, looking at a few of our current designs, and
  2. when we have made samples, to try them out for us and give honest feedback - even if it's criticism.

If you've experienced annoyances or difficulties with clothing, or simply want more choice when it comes to fashion and functionality, get in touch with emma@kintsugiclothing.com and I will get back to you asap.

Thank you in advance for your support.
