Manchester Histories Digifest 2020 final day!

Today is the final day of Manchester Histories DigiFest 2020: Saturday, 12-3pm session

Digifest is an online event that will mark the 60th anniversary of of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act (CSDPA) 1970.

This landmark legislation was pioneered by the late Lord Alf Morris, who subsequently became Britain’s first minister for disabled people. Often described at the Magna Carta for
disabled people, this was the first disability rights legislation anywhere in the world and laid the foundations for the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and the Equality Act 2010.

GMCDP has collaborated with this event and GMCDP founding member Martin Pagel will be giving a talk at 3:25pm. GMCDP's Rick Burgess will also lead an online discussion at 5:05pm. There will also be a film available rom GMCDP to watch online
