Coronavirus Update

An important message from staff to GMCDP members regarding coronavirus (COVID-19)

Dear GMCDP Members,

As we are sure you are all aware, there is currently a global pandemic with the coronavirus COVID 19.  Whilst for a large number of the population this is a minor illness, for many of us this has greater impact.  GMCDP has therefore taken the decision to close its office temporarily for the next few weeks, and has put in measures for staff to work remotely.  This decision has not been made lightly, but has been taken to protect staff, our Executive and our members.  We will still be working hard to support disabled people from across Greater Manchester, and to challenge decision makers on their policies concerning disabled people during this difficult time.

Staff are currently developing their working from home strategies, and we will be updating members shortly on how we will best continue to engage, support and inform disabled people across Greater Manchester.  We recognise the lack of advice, information or guidance being given to disabled people so far, especially in relation to those who rely on the support of personal assistance, and are challenging this wherever we can.

In the meantime we hope members are staying safe, washing their hands regularly, and taking care of themselves.

GMCDP remains rooted in its fight for disabled people, our rights and full inclusion in society, now more than ever.

 In solidarity

GMCDP Staff team
