Disabled People's Archive at Manchester Histories Festival

Come see the Disabled People's Archive at Manchester Histories' Histories & Heritage Marketplace on Saturday 6 June!

We're delighted to have a stall at this year's tenth edition of the Manchester Histories festival. Archive team members Amie and Sarah will be on Stall 19 (middle of the room) talking all things DPA, as well as the two main projects we are undertaking at the moment.

The Choice & Control project, funded by The National Archives, is centred on cataloguing our extensive material of the Independent Living Movement, involving individuals like Maggie Davis and Ken Lumb, and groups such as UPIAS.

The Accessing Our Hidden History project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, is centred on coordinating engagement sessions and workshops both with disabled communities and heritage institutions in Greater Manchester, improving access to our collections.

Come to our stall to find out more about these projects! The Marketplace is open from 11am to 4pm in the Rates Hall, Town Hall Extension.

More information about the festival can be found here.
