From Partisan:

Welcome to Open House!

An inclusive alternative night for deaf/ disabled/ LGBTQ+ Sat 30th March, 20:00-00:00 The Klondyke, 1 Burnage Range (off Albert Road), Levenshulme, Manchester, United Kingdom, M19 2HQ

Worried about access? Anxious about strangers? Can’t find a chair?

Expensive PA tickets? Bright lights and big noise? BSL User?

Worry no more!

Open House is the brain child of some friends who are tired of living with mental and physical health issues and having to compromise on some of the finer things in life- namely socialising, having fun and listening to live music! Set in the large rooms of the Klondyke, expect some house party vibes with some banging lady Dj’s and acoustic set/ open mic in the “kitchen”.

***This event is a fundraiser for Partisan and any profits will be donated towards making their venue accessible***

Launching on Good Friday, Open House is being kindly hosted at the Klondyke.

In The Living Room

Music will be provided by the wonderful Colonel Nina Thunder and Alexa Kruger from Whirldfuzzz

// Nina

Colonel Thunder joins us from her warehouse in West London where her “bedroom DJing just got a bit out of hand” and now runs parties for queers, Burners and other delightful weridos. She’ll be bringing her arsenal of Funky House, Afrobeats, Baeleric Soul with a smattering of Pop and enough enthusiasm for dancing to power a small village in the arse-end of Cornwall ( her spritiual home). When pressed, she describes her aesthetic as “intergalactic unicorn shat on by a rainbow”.

// Alexa

Alexa's amazingly long and beautiful hair is hiding loads of musical secrets. Check our her amazing radio show for an idea of whats in store, all sorts of delectable fuzzy dicsoveries from around the world!

In The Bedroom

Who was your shameful teenage crush? Come and find out ours, hang out with us in our bedroom where you can enjoy a delicious gin and get your nails did or your glitter on at the painting stations and hear our hot goss!

In The Front Room

The night will also include a chance for anybody to bring their own musical stylings to the party, away from the rumbling beats that the ladies are bringing, we want to offer a less intense but still musically wonderful chance for anybody to participate. Please get in touch with us if you’d like to get involved- if we have enough notice we can caption songs to make them inclusive for Deaf/deaf/ hard of hearing!

// Access //

The Klondyke is step free, with a small ramp into the building.

The Klondyke has toilets that are also step free but there is no accessible toilet at the venue.

The nearest accessible toilet is at the DIce Lounge, on the corner of Albert and Stockport Road (about a ten minute walk). We are awaiting permission from them to use their accessible toilet and we'll keep you updated.

The Klondyke is a snooker hall that is situated in Levenshulme, that is set on one floor and has large gardens and an outside, covered smoking area.

The venue comprises of three rooms.

Entrance is via the snooker hall, where the bar is also located.

There are several snooker tables, which will be moved to ensure wheelchair access. The tables are covered up and there is plenty of seating around the edges of the room.

To the left is a small back room, which will serve as Our Kitchen. We plan to make this a quieter space in to provide a completely different environment from our living room.

Our Living Room is a large room accessed to the right of the snooker hall. This room is much larger and open plan. There is a small stage and lights, but there will be no strobe lighting.

There will be plenty of seating available in all rooms.

// BSL

We are so fortunate that our good friend and brainy wizard Dorothy will be bopping around with us to provide communication support to BSL users.

//Anxious

Please let us know and we can arrange to meet and greet you. We really want this to be a great night that everyone can enjoy!

// Location

The Klondkye is located just off Albert Road in Levenshulme. This is accessed by the 197 and 168 routes (Bus stops are on Albert Road and a short distance to the Klondyke). The 192 serves Stockport road which is approximately a ten minute walk from the venue. Levenshulme train station is also very close (however there is no step free access here) and trains serve Manchester Picadilly (7 minute journey) and Stockport etc very regularly.

//Tickets

Suggested donation will be £5, on the door only. PA’s and carers are welcome to join for free, but please let us know in advance (if you

can) and we’ll pop them on our guest list. Please don't feel like if you can't donate you can't come. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.

This event is a fundraiser and any profit made will be donated to Partisan Collective.
