Whether you want a chat and a bit of food, share a poem or song, make a pride badge, or talk about the possibility of a presence for LGBTQ disabled people in the 2018 Pride Parade, come along!

This is a safe space for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and/or queer disabled people.

The evening will be flexible. If people who come along just want to chat then that’s what we will do, but if you would like to share a song, poem or short piece of prose we will have a couple of  ‘open mic’ sessions.

There will be non-alcoholic drinks and some vegan finger food to keep us all going (but not enough for a full meal each).

We will have a badge machine so those of us who like badges can have some fun making pride or campaign badges.

We will have an information table.

If people are wanting more in-depth discussion, some ideas are:

  • Would you like to be part of more regular meetings of LGBTQ disabled people in Manchester?
  • Do you feel we need to do some campaigning? Not just action on the streets – this could be lobbying by email, social media, leafleting.
  • What support do you think LGBTQ disabled people would find useful?
  • What issues need tackling?

BSL interpreters are available for the evening.

There will be a quiet space.

Let us know if you need assistance with getting to the Joyce Layland Centre (we have funding to assist people who live in Manchester).
