Online meeting on Zoom
A facilitated discussion, led by Dennis.
We've been starting discussions around intersectionality with our Monthly Members Meetings, and this time we will discuss disability and age. This is part of trying to recognise ourselves as not just disabled people, but disabled people with all kinds of backgrounds and of different ages.
So.. among conversation starters this month are likely to be: What difference does age make? Are there generalisations we can make about being part of specific age groups? Does how disability affects us vary at different ages? Do disabled young people face specific issues that others don't? What about those of us who are older now, have the issues we face changed? Is it different as impairment becomes more common in our age group? We may face discrimination due to our age or (perceived) impairment/s but is there a specific form of disablist ageism?
There will be live captions. Please let us know if you have other access requirements.
This event is for GMCDP members. You can join here. Membership is free.
