What makes healthcare advocacy effective? And how can we ensure that we get the treatment, healthcare and assistance that we need, either at home or in hospital?

Discussion:
How have disabled people and other marginalised groups successfully pushed for treatment and attention to healthcare issues in the past - e.g. what lessons can be learned from the fight for HIV treatment in the 80s and 90s? Which of our collective healthcare issues and access to healthcare requirements has the government ignored?
How can we advocate for ourselves to have our access requirements fulfilled in healthcare settings? How can we ensure that our autonomy and will are respected by medical staff?
Let us advocate for ourselves and learn from each other so that everyone gets the healthcare treatment they need.
Come and share your experiences, strategies and ideas! Let's discuss how we can win the fight to make healthcare settings accessible for everyone.
There will be a short comfort break during the discussion.
