GMCDP are going to be continuing members coffee workshops!
It's a new year with a new start, but unfortunately the same injustices are still here. If you haven't joined us before why not try something new this year? Those who currently attend have found this space extremely useful in order to share our experiences of injustice as disabled people.
Members Coffee Afternoons
Have you ever had trouble with the police?
Do you have access to a telephone or online service?
Want to shape the way the IOPC runs its future works?
Then join us on:
Tuesday 9th March, 1:30pm – 3:00pm
Online via zoom
This Coffee Meeting has been updated as we will now be joined by a couple of guest speakers! It will be a chance to meet people who work for the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) and think about how we can advocate for ourselves when dealing with the police and police misconduct.
They are aiming to run an awareness session that includes:
- A general overview of who they are and what they do.
- What to expect when contacting the IOPC and involvement with investigations.
- How to make a complaint and what to expect.
- How they seek to support disabled people.
- How they seek to promote equality for all and encourage reasonable adjustment support to making complaints.
- An overview of their service user project, what they want to achieve and signposting services they can offer.
Full attendence of the session is not necessary and you can just drop by to say hello if you like!
Please let us know about your access requirements, we will do our upmost to deliver them digitally.
